The challenge
Western Sydney is well known for its nutrient-poor soils, which can make establishing vegetation on disturbed sites a persistent challenge – particularly on large infrastructure projects where timing, compliance and visual outcomes matter.
At Kemps Creek, QuickWay was tasked with stabilising and revegetating a recently disturbed area using a solution that would deliver rapid, reliable growth without relying on topsoil or extended maintenance programs.
The solution
To address the difficult soil conditions, the project was treated with BFM Complete – a high-performance Bonded Fibre Matrix that includes soil conditioners and beneficial biology as part of an all-in-one application.
BFM Complete was selected for its ability to:
- Bind the surface layer to reduce erosion risk
- Improve soil structure and water retention
- Stimulate seed germination and early plant growth, even in compacted or depleted subsoils.
Favourable weather following the application supported strong early germination, with vegetation cover quickly establishing across the site.
The results
The site responded exceptionally well to the BFM Complete treatment, with early-stage vegetation cover exceeding expectations – especially considering the known challenges of the local soils.
